Herb shines the ‘Community Spotlight’ on local Tess Cullen. Tess talks about growing up in Geelong, her artist mother and the family trip to Canada. Time spent at Wytaliba(MO), Lismore, Byron Bay, Bellingen now Armidale. The one constant throughout has been Art. Tess is the President of the New England Art Society and with a passionate group of members run the ‘Armidale Art Gallery’ in the Mall. ‘The Gallery’ is going from strength to strength in its central ground level location. Herb and Tess also chat about some thoughts for breathing life back into our Central Mall.

Helen has written a ‘Hanged in’ series of books which all focus on the hangman who performed his duties from 1870. Nosey Bob was the first officially appointed/salaried Hangmen in NSW, hanging 72 in the employ of NSW Government. Listen in to this latest and somewhat chilling edition of Community Spotlight.

They are currently working on a film called Kennedy. Michael Kennedy was the Victorian Policeman Sergeant killed by the Kelly Gang at the Stringybark Creek ambush in 1878.

Her most recent the book called Ned, is told through the eyes and writings of her Great Great Grandfather, John Sadlier. John was the Victorian Police Officer principle in the capture of Ned Kelly at Glenrowan June 1880.
